Chaldean Numerology Chart

Your Chaldean name number

Chaldean numerology is one of the oldest naming systems, built on a 1–8 letter table and the "compound" numbers behind your name. Enter the name you use every day to find your number, calculated right in your browser.

What a Chaldean numerology chart is

Chaldean numerology is an ancient system that treats your name as a vibration. Each letter is given a value from 1 to 8, and the sum of your name reveals a number said to describe how you meet the world. It's older than the more familiar Pythagorean method, and it works quite differently — most notably, it never assigns the number 9 to a letter, holding 9 as sacred.

Two numbers come out of it. The compound number is your full name total before it's reduced — and in Chaldean tradition, that compound carries a hidden, often karmic meaning. The reduced number (a single digit) describes your outward, everyday self. AstroWise keeps both, because reducing straight to a single digit throws away much of the story.

The Chaldean letter table

This is the exact 1–8 mapping the calculator uses — the same table behind your AstroWise report:

1

A · I · J · Q · Y

2

B · K · R

3

C · G · L · S

4

D · M · T

5

E · H · N · X

6

U · V · W

7

O · Z

8

F · P

Add the value of every letter in your name, and you have your compound number. Reduce it to a single digit (adding the digits until one remains) for your core number — unless it's a master number 11, 22, or 33, which are kept as they are.

Chaldean vs Pythagorean numerology

These are the two great numerology systems, and they don't agree — which is fine, because they're asking different questions.

  • · Chaldean assigns 1–8 by the sound and vibration of each letter, never uses 9 for a letter, and leans on the name you use today. It's especially interested in the compound number.
  • · Pythagorean assigns A–Z straight across 1–9, and builds a fuller chart from your birth name and birth date — Life Path, Expression, Soul Urge, and more.

AstroWise runs both and treats them as separate voices, never blending them into one. If you want the other half of the picture, calculate your Pythagorean numerology chart too.

One number, nine systems

Your Chaldean name number is a precise result, but a name number alone is one small lens. An AstroWise report reads you across nine systems — Western and Vedic astrology, Human Design, Gene Keys, BaZi, Kabbalah, both numerologies, and the Mayan count — and gives more weight to the themes several of them share, each with an AstroWise Confidence Score.

So your Chaldean number doesn't stand alone: it's checked against everything else in your chart, and where it echoes another system, that's when a theme earns real confidence.

Chaldean numerology: common questions

What's the difference between Chaldean and Pythagorean numerology?+

They use different letter-to-number systems. Chaldean assigns values 1–8 based on the vibration of each letter (the number 9 is considered sacred and never assigned to a letter), and focuses on the name you use day to day. Pythagorean assigns A–Z in order across 1–9 and builds more from your birth name and birth date. AstroWise uses both, treating them as distinct rather than interchangeable.

Should I use my birth name or current name?+

Chaldean numerology traditionally emphasizes the name you actually use in daily life, because it treats a name as a living vibration. If your everyday name differs from your birth name, use the one people call you — though you can calculate both and compare.

What is a compound number?+

Before your name total is reduced to a single digit, it's a two-or-more-digit "compound" number. In Chaldean numerology the compound carries a hidden, often karmic layer of meaning — for example 16 (the Shattered Citadel) or 19 (the Sun). AstroWise preserves the compound, not just the reduced digit, because that's where much of the meaning lives.

Is my name stored when I use this calculator?+

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser. Your name is never sent to a server and nothing is stored.
